Autodesk Revit Architecture

CivilTraining, LLC instruction in Autodesk® Revit® Architecture provides a hands-on introduction to the core functionality of Revit Architecture. This course consists of a four-day class that focuses on teaching Revit Architecture tools built specifically for architects which help deliver higher quality, more accurate model-based designs.

CivilTraining, LLC Revit Architecture classes are registered Continuing Education classes with the AIA and meet continuing education/professional development requirements for New York and Virginia, and they will most likely meet these requirements in other states accepting AIA registered classes.


Autodesk Revit Architecture Fundamentals (4 Days)

The Autodesk® Revit® Architecture Fundamentals class teaches Revit functionality exactly as it is used in the design process. Students begin by learning about the user interface and the Revit commands for design development, followed by those available for construction documentation. The objective of the class is to enable students to create full 3D architectural project models and set them up in working drawings. The class focuses on teaching basic tools that the majority of users need to work with Revit Architecture.

Autodesk Revit Architecture Fundamentals provides a basic understanding of the software interface, placement and basic modification of AEC content required to complete construction documentation.
Topics include:
  • Understanding and Using the Revit Architecture Workspace and Interface
  • Basic Drawing and Editing Tools in Revit
  • Creating Levels and Grids as Datum Elements for the Model
  • Creating a 3D Building Model with Walls, Windows, and Doors
  • Adding Floors and Roofs to the Building Model
  • Creating Stairs
  • Detailing Reflected Ceiling Plans with Ceilings and Lighting Fixtures
  • Adding Component Features, such as Furniture and Equipment
  • Setting up Sheets for Plotting with Text, Dimensions, Details, Tags, and Schedules
  • Creating Details

Prerequisites: Familiarity with architectural concepts, and familiarity with current versions of Microsoft® Windows® (XP, Vista or Windows 7®).
